The work was performed in the Administrative Region of Guará II, contracted by TERRACAP, the real estate company of Brasilia. The work scope comprised services to enhance the water distribution systems of the blocks QE 38, 44, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56 and 58, and redeploy and reinforce the secondary water mains to expand the Guará II neighboring. This will supply the following areas located in the City of Guará, Administrative Region X: Blocks QE 38, QE 40, QE42, QE44, QE46, Polo de Modas, Colônia Agrícola Águas Claras, Colônia Agrícola Bernardo Sayão, Special Areas AE-2, AE-2A, AE-4, AE-6, AE-8 and further expansions QE 48 to 58.

 

The services were delivered using PEAD (DN 63 and 90 mm), PVC (DN 60 and 100 mm), DeFoFo (DN 150, 200, 250 and 300 mm) and cast iron (DN 350, 400 and 500 mm) pipes. On the key stretches, non-destructive methods were used to pass systems and secondary water mains, thus minimizing disturbance and allowing the work under streets, avenues, sidewalks and buildings without opening ditches.

Six pressure reducing valves were installed to control pressure on the distribution systems. This allowed reducing the excessive pressure on pipes downstream, so as to reduce the volume lost due to leakages, losses due to induced consumption, or even rupture of pipes.
